Lulu the Cat's Jeju Life · A guide for first-time players
Lulu's Goal
Lulu is thirty. Ten years of saving in Seoul still couldn't buy a home, so she spent everything she had on an empty house in a remote Jeju village. The roof leaks and the power is out.
The goal: build a fortune of ₩100 million. Fix up the old house into the finest home on Jeju, and buy every field you've been renting.
You can check your progress anytime in the 🎒 bag at the top right.

Idle RPG: Plant It and It Grows on Its Own
This game has idle RPG elements. Rent or buy a field and sow some seeds, and your crops will grow into money with no further work, just by letting time pass. Plant them, go pick tangerines or go diving, and by the time you're back they'll be ready to harvest.
One catch: the browser window must stay open. In-game time only passes while the screen is on. If you close the window or leave it in a background tab for a long while, time stops. If you plant something and step away, leave the window as it is.
- One in-game day is 20 minutes. The sun rises and sets.
- Every morning brings the day's news: a pony-feeding reminder and the weather.
- Even-numbered days are harvest days. It's not luck; they rotate in a fixed order: Cheonhyehyang → Hallabong → Hwanggeumhyang → back to Cheonhyehyang.
- Odd-numbered days: 30% chance of a typhoon, 70% calm. When a typhoon comes, you can't go diving.
Three Ways to Earn Money
🍊 Tangerine Picking: The Safest Way
Drag a crate along and press F in front of a tree to pick tangerines. Fill the crate and bring it to the shipping depot, and the village head will buy it.
| Citrus | Price per fruit |
|---|---|
| Tangerine | ₩500 |
| Hwanggeumhyang | ₩1,000 |
| Hallabong | ₩1,500 |
| Cheonhyehyang | ₩2,000 |
- A crate holds 20 fruits. Fill it with plain tangerines and it's worth ₩10,000.
- Premium varieties sell for more.
- Buy a container for ₩200,000 and you can sell crates in batches of five.
🤿 Haenyeo Diving: Good Money, Real Danger
Buy a mangsari net bag (₩10,000) at the store, put it on, and walk to the end of the harbor breakwater to enter the water.
| Catch | Price |
|---|---|
| Octopus | ₩50,000 |
| Sea cucumber | ₩30,000 |
| Abalone | ₩20,000 |
| Turban shell | ₩10,000 |
| Seaweed | ₩1,000 |
- The net bag holds 10 items. Once it's full, you have to come ashore to sell.
- Night diving pays double. But the night sea is dark.
- Harvested spots respawn somewhere in the sea a week later.
Run out of breath, and the rescue helicopter carries you away. The hospital bill is ₩300,000, and if you can't pay, it becomes debt. You also lose your net bag to the sea, along with everything in it. As the old haenyeo at the harbor always says: "Get greedy, and the sea will take you."
🐴 Pony Racing: Pure Luck
Your pony needs an affection level of 10 to race. One carrot a day, so that's ten days. The odds are fifty-fifty, and first prize pays 10 times the entry fee.
| Race | Entry fee | First prize |
|---|---|---|
| 1st | ₩20,000 | ₩200,000 |
| 3rd | ₩80,000 | ₩800,000 |
| 5th | ₩320,000 | ₩3,200,000 |
| 7th | ₩1,280,000 | ₩12,800,000 |
The stakes double every time you race. Big when you win, big when you lose.
🌱 Field Farming: Idle
There are four plots in all, one on each side of your yard. Until you rent them, they all belong to the village head.
Sow the seeds, and from then on all you do is wait. No watering, no weeding. When the set number of days has passed, the sign reads "Ready to harvest," and pressing F collects your money. While the crops grow, you're free to pick tangerines or go diving.
- Rent is ₩500,000 per plot per year (365 in-game days). At 20 minutes per day, that lasts quite a while.
- Half of everything harvested from a rented field goes to the village head.
- Or buy a plot outright for ₩10,000,000. From then on everything is Lulu's, and the land counts toward your fortune.
| Seed | Seed price | Days to grow | Harvest | Daily yield (owned field) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 🌾 Buckwheat | ₩30,000 | 3 days | ₩3,000,000 | ₩1,000,000 |
| 🥔 Potato | ₩50,000 | 5 days | ₩5,000,000 | ₩1,000,000 |
| 🥬 Winter radish | ₩100,000 | 7 days | ₩10,000,000 | ₩1,430,000 |
| 🍃 Tea tree | ₩100,000 | 1 day | ₩500,000 | ₩500,000 |
Think carefully before planting tea trees. They're perennials: you harvest leaves every day instead of cutting them down, but once planted, that plot becomes a tea field forever and nothing else can grow there. The income is also only a third of winter radish. The game warns you before you plant them, too.
🐴 Caring for Your Pony
- One carrot a day raises affection by 1. You can't feed two.
- Skip a whole day, and affection drops by 1 the next morning.
- You get warnings after 3 and 6 days without feeding.
Starve your pony for a week, and it dies. A new pony costs ₩100,000, but what stays with you weighs more than money: letting a pony starve goes on your record and follows you to the end. Whatever else you skip, don't skip the carrot.
🏚 Repairing and Decorating Your House
The old stone house on the southern hill is Lulu's home. At first it's a ruin with no doors or windows.
- Buy a roof, a gate, and exterior paint at the store to fix it up. A new roof brightens the whole house.
- The store sells 25 kinds of furniture, plus flooring and wallpaper. You pick the colors yourself.
- You can also landscape the yard with palm trees, a lawn, and more.
Fix the house up nicely, and you can go on dates with Munam, the dashing tomcat boyfriend who keeps his suit sharp even deep in the Jeju countryside.
People You'll Meet
- The Village Head: runs the general store and owns the land. He buys your tangerines and leases you fields.
- Granny the Haenyeo: found at the harbor. She'll tell you about diving.
- Dol hareubang: ask him when you're stuck. He explains the controls.
- Munam: lives on the island's southern shore. He doesn't seem to do anything, yet wears a suit every day.
Press F to talk. The same person will say different things depending on the situation.
Good to Know
- Start with tangerines. It's the only work you can do with no money down.
- Don't leave your fields empty. Crops grow on their own once planted, so sowing before you head out always pays.
- As soon as you've saved ₩10,000 for a net bag, start diving. Your income jumps.
- Always watch your breath gauge. Money lost to greed outweighs money earned.
- Buying several crates cuts down your back-and-forth time a lot.
- Check the map (M) often. It shows the fields, the store, and the harbor.
💾 Saving
Saving is manual. Press the 💾 button at the top right. The game does auto-save at moments that shouldn't be undone, though.
Your save lives only in this device's browser. If you clear your browsing data or play in private mode, you won't be able to continue. See Support for details.
