CONTROL KING
Control King is a jump game where you move a frog or a robo dog only by jumping, from the bottom of a well to the moon. It runs in your browser with nothing to install.
A frog sits at the bottom of a well. All it can do is walk left and right and jump. It jumps the moment you press JUMP, and the longer you hold, the higher it goes. The direction is set when you press, so you can't steer in the air. You have to read the distance and height of every ledge.
One slip and you fall. But you only fall to the floor of the stage you are in. Each stage floor is a trapdoor that opens when you come up from below and holds when you land on it from above, so you never tumble all the way back to the bottom of the well. That makes it gentler than most Jump King style games. Fall far and a crow flies in to laugh at you.
The climb is 24 stages. Out of the well bottom, the mossy wall, the buckets and the well mouth, you pass jar terraces, a thatched roof, a persimmon tree, a bamboo grove, a windy hill, a waterfall and the clouds to reach the summit. Above that come storm clouds, a rainbow, kites, sky islands, drift clouds, twinkling stars, the aurora, ice clouds, a magpie bridge, the Milky Way and the road to the moon, and last of all the moon itself, about 750 m up.
Every stage has its own ledges. Moss, thatch, ice and rainbows are slippery; clotheslines and fluffy clouds bounce you high. Buckets, kites and sky islands move, and cracked rocks and the magpie bridge fall apart soon after you step on them. Twinkling stars blink on and off, and wind pushes you sideways on the windy hill and in the storm clouds. From the Milky Way up you feel lighter and float higher and longer.
Every stage hides one golden fly. Catch all the golden flies in the first 12 stages and the twelve stone lanterns on the summit light up, bringing out stepping stones to climb higher. Catch all of them in the last 12 and the twelve stars in front of the moon light up, bringing out stepping stars to the moon. If you missed one, open the map from the pause screen to jump back to any stage you have visited. There are also 193 ordinary flies that the frog snaps up with its tongue when they come close.
There are two characters.
| Character | Mode | Difference |
|---|---|---|
| Frog | EASY | Stops right where it lands and shakes off a big fall in 0.75 seconds. Eats flies |
| Robo Dog | HARD | Same controls, but keeps sliding after it lands. A big fall breaks it apart for 2.4 seconds of repairs. Charges batteries instead of eating flies |
Progress is saved separately for each character, so you can switch between your frog run and your robo dog run. Land on the moon and the moon rabbit is waiting; your time, jumps, falls and flies are shown and the game ends.

Frequently asked questions
Do I start over when I fall?
No. You only fall to the floor of the stage you are in. Stage floors are trapdoors you can only break through from below, so you never drop further than that.
What is the difference between the frog and the robo dog?
The frog is EASY mode: it stops as soon as it lands and gets right back up after a fall. The robo dog is HARD mode: it slides after landing, and a big fall breaks it apart for 2.4 seconds of repairs.
Do I have to catch the golden flies?
Yes. You need every golden fly in the first 12 stages to light the summit lanterns and bring out the stepping stones, and every golden fly in the last 12 to bring out the stepping stars to the moon.
How do I find a golden fly I missed?
Open the map from the pause screen and jump straight to any stage you have already visited. The map shows which stages still have a golden fly.
How many stages are there and where does it end?
There are 24 stages from the bottom of the well to the moon. Land on the moon and your time, jumps and falls are shown, and the game ends.
