On a concrete alley floor a red paper ddakji slams down and a calendar ddakji stands up and flips over, with a dino ddakji and a rainbow ddakji nearby and the title DDAKJI across the bottom

Ddakji

🎮 Play now

Ddakji is a free browser game where you slam your folded paper tile beside your opponent's, flip it over and win it. No download, it starts right in your browser.

Hold your finger on the ground and your ddakji rises above that spot and bobs up and down. Let go while it is high to slam hard, or while it is low to slam soft. Hit the ground right beside the edge of the other ddakji and the air rushes under it, it stands up, and if it goes all the way over it is yours. Cover it too much and it gets pinned. Fall a little short and it stands up and drops back.

You and your opponent take turns. On their turn the neighborhood kid goes after your ddakji, and if you lose all five of yours it is GAME OVER. There are four neighborhoods, an alley, a playground, a schoolyard and the front of a stationery shop, with six kids each, and the last kid in each one is the boss. The ground changes too, concrete, sand, dirt and brick, so the ddakji slide differently.

There are 36 kinds of ddakji, from newspaper, calendar, milk carton and cardboard to gold foil and rainbow. Heavy ones hit harder and thick ones are harder to flip. Beat a kid and you pick one of three cards for a new ddakji, and now and then a gold rimmed card shows up. Flip the golden ddakji of the shop owner's son, the 24th kid, to finish, and fill all 36 in the book to change the final scene.

Frequently asked questions

How do you flip a ddakji?

Do not hit the top of it. Hit the ground right beside its edge. If your ddakji covers too much of it, it gets pinned, and if you land too far away the air never reaches it.

What are the rules of ddakji?

You and your opponent take one hit each in turn. Flip their ddakji and it becomes yours, then they put down the next one. Win all of theirs to win, and lose all five of yours to lose.

Is a harder hit always better?

A harder hit pushes more air, but your ddakji also lands less exactly. A soft hit lands where you aim, but a heavy ddakji may not flip.

What is different between ddakji?

Each one has its own weight and thickness. Weight is how hard it hits, and thickness is how well it holds when your opponent hits it. You can choose one in the bag, and when you win a stronger one it switches to that automatically.

How do I get gold rimmed ddakji?

After each win three cards spread out and you pick one. Most are regular, but a gold rimmed card turns up now and then, a little more often in the later neighborhoods. The kids outside the stationery shop also use gold and silver foil ones you can flip and keep.

Do I have to start over when I lose?

No. Just press RETRY against the kid who beat you. The kids you already beat and the ddakji you collected stay, and you can play any beaten kid again from the map.
