Mulgwisin: Water Ghost
Mulgwisin is a free 3D horror game where you climb a dark river at night to find your missing little sister. It runs in your browser on PC and mobile with nothing to install.
The river barely reaches an adult's knees, yet people drown in it every year, and word spread that a water ghost lives there. A brother and his little sister lived in a small house beside it. One day, in a pouring storm, the sister went out to the yard and never came back. The boy takes a single lamp and sets out up the dark river.
The spring is 1,260 m upstream. To meet your sister, you need to find 8 talismans and 5 traces of her on the way. Each talisman waits at the end of a puzzle: follow handprints that only show when your lamp is off, find the one jar out of nine that is knocking, and light three dark stone lanterns. Her shoe, school bag, hair tie, flashlight and raincoat are tangled in hair or jammed in a stopped water wheel. Nothing you are looking for glows, so you search with your lamp.
Your lamp burns oil. If the light stays out, or you stay in the water too long, the water ghost comes. Throw salt to drive it back, struggle free if it grabs you, and hide inside the stone towers along the bank. At the four shrines the ghost will not come, even in the dark. Along the river, a fisherman who believes he is Jesus appears when you least expect him.
The keepsakes of 28 people who drowned in this river lie along its banks. Whether you find them all decides which ending you get. The map marks puzzle spots and shrines, and your inventory shows what you have collected.

Do I need to download Mulgwisin?

Does it work on phones?
Yes. Turn your phone sideways. Move with the pad on the left and use the buttons on the right to sprint, throw salt, jump and switch the lamp. On PC you use the keyboard.
How do I play?
Move with WASD or the arrow keys and sprint with Shift. Space jumps, F throws salt and E turns the lamp on or off. If the ghost grabs you, tap Space fast to break free. M opens the map and I opens your inventory.
When does the water ghost appear?
It comes when your lamp stays out or you stay in the water too long. Before that you only get signs: footsteps, drifting hair, a white figure far away. It cannot take you at a shrine or inside a stone tower.
How scary is it?
There is no blood. The tension builds through darkness and sound, and now and then something appears right in front of you. It is scarier with headphones.
How does it end?
Collect all 8 talismans and all 5 traces of your sister, then reach the spring to meet her. The ending changes depending on whether you found all 28 keepsakes along the river. If the ghost drags you under, it is GAME OVER and you start again from the last shrine you reached.
Is my progress saved?
Your current run and your farthest distance are saved in your browser. Open it again on the same device and browser and press CONTINUE on the title screen. Nothing is sent to a server.
