UENO ZZANG is a free 3D adventure web game about a tough-looking high school couple doing good deeds in Tokyo's Ueno Park. No install — it starts right in your browser.
Ken looks like a delinquent and Hiromi is a gyaru schoolgirl, and today is their first anniversary. Hiromi wants to redo the exact route of the day they met in Ueno Park; Ken says it's a hassle but gives in for a bottle of strawberry milk. You start on the cherry blossom Sakura Path and work your way round the park past Shinobazu Pond, Toshogu Shrine and the Zoo Gate to the final Fountain Plaza.
Despite the looks, the two of them are soft-hearted, and most of what you do in the park is good deeds. Open a can for a hungry stray cat, pick up litter, make a wish on a charm and stamp your card at the landmarks. Give a whimpering lost puppy a treat and it trots along behind you; find the mother dog wearing the same collar colour and the two of them lie down side by side. Scatter feed for the pigeons. There are six kinds of good deeds and twelve of each.
At every spot the rivals Ryuji and Eri are in the way. They take the bench, cut the duck boat queue and snatch Hiromi's wish plaque. When talking doesn't work it becomes a 2-on-2 fight: chain punches into combos and fill the gauge for a special drop kick. Tab swaps control between Ken and Hiromi while the other one fights beside you. Each spot also has a puzzle: lead ducklings back by duck boat, light the stone lanterns, turn the panda statues and set the fountain valves.
The final Fountain Plaza only opens once every good deed is done. Coins come from fights, puzzles and picking things up, and the park's vending machines sell strawberry milk, cat food, pigeon feed and dog treats. The music, the animals and the park are all made in code.

Yes. Turn the phone sideways. The pad on the left walks, the buttons on the right punch, kick and swap characters, and dragging the screen turns the camera.
How do I play?
Arrow keys walk and Shift runs. Click the screen once to look around with the mouse; left click punches and right click kicks. E feeds animals and uses vending machines, Tab swaps between Ken and Hiromi, and T opens the map.
Is my progress saved?
Your progress, coins, fed cats, stamps and charms are saved in your browser. Open it again on the same device and browser and CONTINUE picks up where you left off. Nothing is sent to a server.
How does the game end?
Beat the rivals at Sakura Path, Shinobazu Pond, Toshogu Shrine and the Zoo Gate, and solve the four puzzles in front of them. Then finish all six kinds of good deeds, twelve of each, and the final Fountain Plaza opens. Win the fight there to reach the ending.
What are coins for?
Vending machines around the park. Strawberry milk restores Ken and Hiromi's health, and cat food, pigeon feed and dog treats are needed for the good deeds. Coins come from fights, puzzles, stamps, charms and picking up litter.
Are the fights hard?
Chain punches and kicks into a combo, and use the special drop kick when the gauge is full. If it gets rough, swap to Hiromi and Ken keeps fighting beside her. Strawberry milk from the vending machines restores health.
