Saving 12 Chicks is a free browser game where a rooster rescues 12 chicks on the way home. An old-school arcade game made by Oreum Games — no install, play instantly in your browser.
The rooster crosses six zones over 60 stages: farmyard, fields, country road, stream, village and a night road. Every 5th stage hides a chick peeking out of a pile of straw beside the road — peck it open and the chick pops out and follows behind you. Reach the signpost at the end of a stage to clear it, and the next stage starts on its own without pressing anything.
Dogs, cats, crows, snakes, foxes and cars appear one by one as the stages go on. Jump on most of them from above to bounce off and send them running, or roll a log into them, or push a crate into water to make a stepping stone. Getting hit costs a heart, but walking over grain or pecking open a worm fills a feeding meter, and every 3 bits of food refills one heart.
Jump over fences and rocks, and hold Space after jumping to glide down slowly. When the daylight runs out, night falls and a fox starts chasing you. Rescue all 12 chicks and reach home on stage 60 to watch the ending in the farmyard at dawn, with the hen and every chick waiting.
