Line 1 Villains
Line 1 Villains is a free tower defense game where you stop the villains boarding a Seoul subway Line 1 car from reaching the next car, using station staff, security and barriers. No download, it starts right in your browser.
You guard one car of a Line 1 train. Press the depart button and the train pulls into the next station, the doors open and villains get on. They walk toward the connecting door at the right end of the car, and every one who gets through files a complaint. Five complaints in one stage is GAME OVER.
You stop them with people and gear you place on the floor. Station Staff blow whistles, Social Workers are weak but cheap, and Security grabs villains and slows them down. Line up barriers and the villains have to take the long way around, but you can never seal the path completely. Every catch pays coins, and coins buy more.

| Gear | What it does | Coins | Unlocks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Social Worker | hits villains up close | 30 | stage 1 |
| Station Staff | whistles from a distance | 50 | stage 1 |
| Barrier | blocks the path so villains go around | 12 | stage 1 |
| Announcer | slows villains nearby | 60 | stage 3 |
| Security | grabs and slows, hits hard | 110 | stage 6 |
| CCTV | marked villains take more damage | 55 | stage 13 |
| Cleaner | mop water hits a crowd | 130 | stage 21 |
| Rail Police | double damage to bosses | 170 | stage 31 |
There are sixteen kinds of villains, added one by one as you go. Gear slows down near the Street Preacher, the Peddler stops to spread out his goods, the Seat Sleeper lies down on the floor to recover once he is worn down by half, and the Pigeon and the Pull-up Guy fly over barriers. The Chicken Guy and the Sashimi & Soju uncle stun nearby gear with the smell, and the Dog Walker does it with dog poop. The Lecturing Grandpa only listens to Security and Rail Police.

A section boss boards every ten stages. The Golden General and the Peddler King smash barriers, the Pigeon King calls a flock of pigeons, and the Danso Slayer runs fast and stuns nearby gear with his danso flute. The Line 1 Archfiend on stage 70 takes turns using the tricks of the bosses before him.
Clear a stage and pick one of three ticket cards that add starting coins or make your gear stronger, and gold cards do more. Clear with no complaints for three stars. Every villain you meet goes into the book, and reaching stage 70 brings the ending.

Frequently asked questions
What happens when a villain gets through the connecting door?
One complaint light at the top turns on. When all of them are on it is GAME OVER, and a boss ends the stage the moment he gets through. Each member of the Hiking Club counts as two complaints.
What if I block the whole path with barriers?
The barrier will not go there. At least one path from the train doors to the connecting door has to stay open, and the Pigeon and the Pull-up Guy fly over barriers anyway.
Do the cards I pick carry over?
Yes. Every card you pick keeps working in later stages, and the same card can stack up to its limit. Clearing a boss stage always deals a gold card first.
Are these real Line 1 stations?
Yes. Real Line 1 station names from Soyosan to Sinchang come up in order section by section, and every stop shows the platform and the station sign.
Do I start over if I lose to a boss?
No. Only that stage restarts. Cleared stages stay on the route map with their stars and you can replay them any time.
