Villain Like is a free survivors-like browser game where subway staff hold off a swarm of Seoul Line 1 villains on the platform with auto-firing weapons until the last train. No download, it starts right in your browser.

The stage is a Line 1 subway platform. Pick one staff member, clock in, and villains pour in from every side. Your weapons fire on their own, so you just dodge with the arrow keys on PC or by dragging on your phone. Caught villains drop tickets that level you up, and you hold out until the last train arrives in 12 minutes. As time passes, the station name on the LED board moves from Soyosan to Sinchang and the platform grows darker.

Every level up you pick one of three cards: a new weapon or an upgrade, and the occasional gold card raises it two levels at once. Max a weapon at level 5 and get Canned Coffee, a Rice Triangle or Sneakers to level 3, and an evolution card shows up.

Space (the red button on phones) is the horn. Hold it and a yellow dashed lane shows where the train will run, then let go and a Line 1 train tears across that lane and sweeps the villains away. Let go at full gauge for a PERFECT, wider and harder.

There are eleven weapons. Each staff member starts with a different one, and anyone can get the Announcement, CCTV, Transit Card, Barricade, Rubber Gloves and the Seized Danso from level up cards.

Fifteen kinds of villains mix in as time goes on. The Hiker Drunk zigzags, villains near the Trot Grandpa speed up, and the Chicken Guy and the Sashimi & Soju Guy leave smell clouds behind. The Floor Sleeper lies down now and then to hold his ground, and the Pull-up Guy hops around.

At night on the Suwon section, the Danso Slasher in a blue cap and sunglasses charges in while the Subway Marshal fights back with handcuffs and transit cards

Catch the Line 1 Archfiend who rides in with the last train and the train pulls in for you to clock out. Clocking out unlocks the next staff member, and the game ends when all five have clocked out. Even when you fall, the coins you earned stay, and the shop lets you raise six things like damage, health and speed for good. Every villain you meet and every weapon you get goes into the collection, and clocking out with the collection full brings a special ending.

Good for — anyone who wants a quick survivors-like on their phone, players who enjoyed Line 1 Villains, and collectors who fill the book to 100%.

Frequently asked questions

Does it end after 12 minutes?

No. At 12 minutes the Line 1 Archfiend arrives with the last train, and you have to catch him to clock out. Villains keep coming the whole time you fight him.

When can I use the horn?

The gauge fills on its own and you can press once it is over 15%. The longer you hold, the wider and harder the train hits, and letting go within half a second at full gauge is a PERFECT. Hold it for more than 1.5 seconds and the train goes on its own.

How do weapons evolve?

Get one weapon to level 5 and Canned Coffee, a Rice Triangle or Sneakers past level 3, and the next level up always deals an evolution card. Evolved weapons do double damage and get a new name.

In what order do the staff unlock?

You start as the Service Worker, and every time you clock out the next one unlocks: Station Staff, Subway Marshal, Cleaning Lady, then Railway Police. Each has a different starting weapon, and other staff members' starting weapons never show up in your level up cards.

Do I start over when I fall?

That run starts over, but the coins you earned from catching villains stay. Spend them in the shop on damage, health, speed, ticket magnet, horn gauge and XP, up to 5 levels each.

How is it different from Line 1 Villains?

Both are Oreum Games titles with the same villains and staff. Line 1 Villains is a tower defense game where you post staff and gear inside a train car, and Villain Like is a survivors-like where you move one staff member yourself and hold out on the platform.
