A hotteok street stall on a snowy night with golden pancakes on the griddle, paper cups full of seeds, a line of customers and the HOTTEOK MAKER title

HOTTEOK MAKER Korean Pancake Game

🎮 Play now

HOTTEOK MAKER is a free browser game where you make Korean sweet pancakes by hand and sell them at a street stall in 3D. No download, it starts right in your browser on phone or PC.

You have opened a hotteok stall on a night street in Busan. Pull a piece of dough from the tub onto the tray, add two spoons of brown sugar and rub in circles until the edges close into a ball. Drop the ball on the griddle and it sizzles in the oil.

When the ring above the pancake turns green, tap to flip it. Grab the press, drag it onto the pancake and hold it there to flatten it. Press too long or put in three spoons of sugar and the filling bursts onto the griddle. When it is done, move it to the tray, swipe to cut it open with scissors and tap the seed tub to stuff it with sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and peanuts. Drag it to a customer and it is handed over in a paper cup.

The menu grows one item a day, from honey hotteok to seed, red bean, green tea, corn cheese, japchae, black rice and hollow bubble hotteok. There are three doughs and four fillings. For the first two days customers come one at a time so you can learn at your own pace, and the line gets longer as the days go on. After three sales it starts to snow, and the music plays Silent Night and Jingle Bells, made in code.

Frequently asked questions

My hotteok keeps burning. When should I flip it?

Watch the ring next to each griddle spot. It fills from white to yellow to green, and flipping on green gives a golden side. When it turns red it starts to burn and smoke. The dot in the middle shows the color of the side facing down.

Why does the filling burst out?

You put in three spoons of sugar or held the press too long. Two spoons of sugar or one spoon of cheese is right, and you can let go of the press when the ring turns green. A burst hotteok still sells, but for fewer stars.

How do I make a bubble hotteok?

Close the dough without any filling and put it on the griddle. Cook one side and flip it, and the hollow pancake puffs up into a round dome. Pressing it makes it collapse, so leave it alone.

What happens when customers leave angry?

The bar above a customer is how long they will wait. When it runs out they leave angry, and if three leave angry in one day it is GAME OVER and you redo that day. Five PERFECT pancakes fill the honey jar, and tapping it makes customers wait patiently for 15 seconds while tips double.

What can I buy with my coins?

After each day you can buy a bigger griddle, a stronger burner, a better press, a bigger oil bottle, a heater and sign bulbs. The griddle grows from three to six spots, the heater makes customers wait longer and the bulbs raise your tips.

Does it end?

The business runs for 14 days. The last day is film festival night and 18 customers line up. Serve them all to see the ending and save or share a result card with how many you sold, your PERFECT rate, your earnings and your title.
