MAKING KIMCHIa kimchi shop cooking sim
A back alley in the Bronx, New York. You open a kimchi shop with $500 to your name. You order the vegetables, then wash · cut · salt · season · toss them by hand. Each of the five steps is scored out of 100, and that score becomes your star rating and your price — a sloppy jar sells for less than half of a good one.
Napa cabbage kimchi, kkakdugi, chonggak, oi-sobagi, pa, yeolmu, gat, baek and dongchimi: nine recipes with real ingredients, amounts, brining times and fermentation temperatures. Each one has its right place — room temperature or the kimchi fridge — and picking wrong costs you stars. Kimchi left in the crock keeps ageing while your browser is closed, and a three-year-old jar sells for ten times the price of a fresh one.
You do not start with all nine recipes. They unlock as your total revenue grows, right in the middle of a shift. Kkakdugi opens at $500, chonggak at $1,200.
Open the door and customers walk in. They haggle, ask for a taste, quiz you about kimchi, demand refunds and threaten reviews. Serve them what they actually asked for and your reputation, your crowd and your prices all go up. The goal: $20,000 in total revenue to move to Manhattan, then $1,000,000 there to buy a brand-new condo.
